The Pacquiao-Marquez rematch

“Halos apat na taon ang ginugol upang muli kaming makapagharap ni Juan Manuel Marquez para paglabanan ang isa sa mga pinakamalaking korona at titulo sa super-featherweight division nitong nagdaang dekada. Sa Marso 15 (Marso 16 sa Pilipinas), wawakasan na namin ni Marquez ang isang yugto ng aming career sa Mandalay Bay Events Center sa Las Vegas.” said by Manny Pacquiao in his article in Philboxing.com

Once again, this one proves that Filipino is a great fighter and does not surrender until the end. This fight is the rematch of Pacquiao and Morales after the duo’s epic battle last may 8, 2004 at the MGM Grand Arena  in Las Vegas which ended in a draw but negotiations fell through and each fighter went to a different directions.

The fight held at Mandalay Bay and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada, March 15, 2008 Saturday night and Sunday Lunchtime in the Philippines. Pacquiao led off with a right jab that barely grazed Marquez’s face but caught the Mexican with a left hook for the knockdown at the 21-second mark of the third round. Marquez fought back and even had Pacquiao in trouble in the middle rounds. Both fighters sported cuts near the eye area but it was Marquez who took advantage, landing combinations in the eighth round as Pacquiao couldn’t see where the Mexican was attacking from. But Pacquiao woke up from the ninth round onwards to overhaul Marquez’ lead in the scorecards. Dwayne Ford scored it 115-112, while Tom Miller had it 114-113 both in favor of the Filipino. Jerry Roth scored it 115-112 for the Mexican. The crowd erupted in a huge roar. The popular announcer was then saying “new.”

In case you didn’t catch it, Michael Buffer said: “The new super featherweight champion of the world!”

He was, of course, referring to Manny Pacquiao. Watch the video only here in Abuyog Leyte CYBERZONE, please click HERE.

The Sony Ericsson W960i smartphone

Sony Ericsson W960i

Just recently, I bought a W960i Sony Ericsson smartphone. I like the style of this smartphone, it’s elegant and extremely sexy but the feature that I like on this phone is the Wi-Fi access. You can surf the internet and read your email anywhere as long as there’s a Wi-Fi signal in the area which is free access mostly in a fastfood chain and in the airport.

Sony Ericsson had been churning out tasty, MP3-playing mobiles for ages, before the iPhone came along and drizzled on its chips.

For practically every function, you’ll use the scroll wheel on the side and/or the phone keypad. You can use also a stylus for the touchscreen.

The smartphone is equip with 8GB of storage and really meaty Megabass sound, the music player is arguably better than the iPhone’s.

The W960i is also Symbianed up and bedecked with functions on top of the trademark Walkman. You can open Office documents and PDFs, there’s Wi-Fi, a pretty good browser, push email and a 3.2-meg camera — it’s no Cyber-shot, but it’s much better than nowt. The usual caveat for the current wave of do-it-all phones applies.
